STRIVE!
Briefing Notes
You can help the STRIVE! show by introducing the performance and by establishing it as an entertaining and special show with an important message. Here's what you might say as part of the introduction:
- The message of STRIVE! is that each student should set goals regarding development of their minds and bodies and that they should strive towards these goals with dedication and perseverance.
- Aidan Orange is the performer. Aidan is a world-class juggler, contortionist, musician, balancer, and mathematician. Aidan has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, Breakfast Television, various day-time talk shows, and E-Talk Daily. Aidan has also been in the movies ____________, and has performed live all across Canada, the United States and Europe. Aidan is a native of Toronto, and holds a degree in astophysics.
- As part of STRIVE!! volunteers will be asked to help Aidan on stage. When asked, students should indicate their interest in volunteering by raising their hand.
You might also close out the show by thanking Aidan and by summarizing the key points of the STRIVE! message. Again, your remarks should be two or three minutes long.
The children will remember Aidan and the STRIVE! show for a long time. You can use this as a reference point in other character-building initiatives you might have planned in the coming months. Aidan is available to sign autographs and answer questions after the show if you feel this is appropriate. |
